Group AGM
30th September 2017, 16:00 - 17:00
Our Annual General Meeting is planned for Saturday 30th September at 4pm, and will be held at our Scout Hall.
The AGM is an important part of the Group’s diary and is open to all parents, family, friends and supporters of the Group. During the meeting we will present the accounts and trustees report, plus elect the various officers that act as the Charity Trustees, and form the Group’s Executive Committee, who are responsible for the overall management of the group.
It has been the custom of the Group to ask parents to sit on the Executive Committee, so that the views, thoughts and opinions of parents can be shared and expressed. The committee tends to meet four times per year and the meetings typically last no more than 2 hours. If you could spare the time it would be a great help if you would consider joining this team.
We are also looking for parents to join the group as either assistant leaders or helpers; if you could spare a few hours each month and would like to help out, either at your own child’s section or a different one, please let us know. There is support and training provided where needed. There is no requirement to make a weekly commitment, some leaders may help each week, others may help every other week (depending on their work)
If you cannot help as a leader, would you be able to help on a weekly parent rota? We are looking to form a parent rota for some sections, to help the leaders run the meetings. You could commit either once a fortnight or once a month. The role would involve helping to set up for the meeting, maybe making drinks for the children, and generally helping with some of the activities.
In order to help us gauge numbers, and also to let us know if you would be willing to help as trustee/parent rep, assistant leader/helper, on the parent rota, or to pass back any general comments please click on this link –
