Group Receives Arrowhead Awards

I was very proud to attend the County Awards evening. The evening is a way of recognising those in Scouting that truly give an exceptional commitment to providing weekly meetings,  camps and activities to the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. It is also an opportunity to thank those that often work tirelessly in the background to keep the group going. The awards were attended by the Mayor and other dignitaries and apply to Groups across the whole of the District

Several members of the Group received awards

Beaver Scout Leader of the Year (winner) - Gina Evans

Cub Scout Leader of the Year (Runner-up) - Ron Church

Group Supporter of the Year (Runner up) - Richard Waterton (for all his help in training and managing the teams at the District 5-a-side competition)

Trustee of the Year (Winner) - Kathy Hossain (for her work as Group Secretary)

Lifetime Scouter (Winner) - Ron Church (in recognition of over 50 years service to scouting)

We also received the runner's up award for Scout Group of the Year (this recognise the work that ALL the young people, leaders and helpers have done over the last year)

On behalf of all the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Young Leaders, parents, supporters and leaders can I add my own sincere thanks for all you do to provide Scouting to the young people of the group - the awards are truly deserved
