Group to receive Donation from Little Waitrose, Sidcup
31st October 2013
Our thanks goes to Little Waitrose in Sidcup and all those shoppers who visited the newly opened store in Sidcup High Street during September and supported 1st Foots Cray Scouts by putting their green tokens in the Waitrose Community Matters scheme box.
1st Foots Cray Scouts was one of the first three local community groups to be supported by the store, which opened it's doors in September. Through their Community Matters scheme, every Waitrose Convenience store donates a total of £500 each month (£1000 for Waitrose branches) which is divided amongst three nominated local community initiatives in proportion to the number of green tokens placed in the three boxes in-store. Each month a different three local good causes are chosen by Waitrose's shoppers.
As a result of this initiative, 1st Foots Cray Scouts is shortly due to receive a donation of £150 from Waitrose, which will be put towards scouting activities run by the Group at its Scout Hut in Rectory Lane, Sidcup for the benefit of local young persons.
Many thanks for all your support.
